How to delete your account
There are two ways:
- In the app — go to Settings → Account → Delete your account, type DELETE to confirm. Deletion is immediate.
- By email — send a request from your account's email address to privacy@sumitt.com.au with the subject "Delete my account", and we'll verify it's you and action it.
You don't need an active subscription to delete your account, and there is no charge.
What gets deleted
When your deletion is processed, we permanently remove:
- Your login and authentication record.
- Your business profile (name, ABN, licence, contact, logo, bank/payout details).
- Your quotes, jobs, clients, schedule, templates and pipeline data.
- Your AI conversation history and saved settings.
What we have to keep (and why)
A small amount of data may be retained where the law or a provider requires it:
- Financial & tax records — invoices and transaction records we're legally required to keep (commonly up to 7 years under Australian tax law). These are retained in a restricted form and not used for anything else.
- Payment records held by Stripe — payment and payout records held by our payment processor are governed by Stripe's own retention rules.
- Backups — residual copies in encrypted backups are purged on our normal backup-rotation cycle.
How long it takes
We action verified requests promptly and complete deletion (outside the retained records above, including backup rotation) within 30 days. We'll confirm by email once it's done.
This can't be undone. Deleting your account is permanent. If you just want to stop being billed, you can cancel your subscription instead and keep your data — or export your quotes and invoices first.
