Getting started in five steps

The same five steps the app walks you through on the Home screen until your first paid job.

  1. Set up your business

Details, trade & bank info. It all flows onto every quote.

  2. Build your first quote

Drag the markup until the gauge reads healthy.

  3. Send it to a client

A link they can accept, e-sign and pay on.

  4. Win the job

They accept and e-sign, and it lands in your pipeline.

  5. Get paid

The deposit hits your account before you start.

Questions people ask

How does billing work?

Core is $39 a month and Pro is $79, or pay by the year for two months free. Billed in advance, no exit fees. Prices are in AUD, and no GST is added while Sumitt is not GST-registered.

How do I cancel?

From Billing in the app, any time. Cancelling stops the next charge and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for. Export first if you are leaving for good; your data stays until you delete the account.

What does the free trial include?

10 days of full Pro: every feature, real quotes, real payments. When it ends, quoting pauses until you pick a plan. Nothing is deleted.

How is GST handled?

On your quotes and invoices, GST is switched on or off by the GST registered setting under Settings, Business and compliance, and applied at 10% on the ex-GST price. Sumitt itself is not GST-registered, so no GST is added to subscriptions.

What about deposits and state caps?

The default deposit is 10%. Most states cap residential deposits, and several drop the cap to 5% on bigger jobs. Set your state under Settings, Policies, and the builder warns you and names the Act when a deposit goes over the cap for that job size. It warns; it does not block. Keeping within the cap is your responsibility.

Who is responsible for the SWMS?

You are. Sumitt drafts it from the job you quoted (trade, scope, site and cost lines) so you start from the real work, not a blank template. You review it against the actual site and sign it before it can be printed or used. Sumitt prepares the paperwork; the sign-off, and the responsibility, stay with you.

Can I export my data?

Yes, all of it, any time, from Reports and exports: CSVs for quotes, invoices, payments and clients, Xero-ready and MYOB-ready files, printable packs, and Download everything, which is a zip of every CSV plus a JSON of the lot.

Is there an iPhone or Android app?

iPhone and iPad: the App Store. Android: sign in on the web and add Sumitt to your home screen, and it opens full screen like any other app. The Android app is built, and a Google Play listing is on the roadmap.
