What shipped, and when
Sumitt ships weekly. Every entry below is a day something reached customers, newest first, written as what you can now do rather than what happened to the code.
Job costing, price books, Xero contacts and the bookkeeper pack
- Timesheets and purchase orders on the job screen feed real-margin back-costing, so the gauge reads the job on what it actually cost.
- Supplier price books: import a supplier’s price list by CSV or paste, then add lines from it in the quote builder with the add-from-price-book picker.
- Xero: the client’s name, email, phone and address go across as a Xero contact, and paid invoices sync automatically after each payment, still as drafts.
- New CSV exports: a Xero-ready invoice CSV in Xero’s import template columns, a MYOB-ready sales CSV and a clients CSV.
- Download everything: a zip of every CSV plus a JSON of quotes with line items, clients, invoices, payments, jobs, variations, claims and safety-doc metadata.
- Compliance certificate records for electrical and plumbing work, all states: test results, the regulator, the deadline, a reminder. You lodge on its portal.
- Formwork is the sixteenth trade, with its own rate card, takeoff engine and structured entries for slabs, soffits, props and walls.
- Bank transfer and PayID ride on the quote: the client taps I’ve transferred it, you tap Mark paid by transfer, and the receipt and tax invoice follow.
- Quote again seeds a fresh quote from one you saved, and Nudge now sends one friendly follow-up on a quote that has gone quiet.
- Setup is one screen of four controls, and the quote goes out by email in your business’s name with replies coming straight to you.
Business risk checks in the free trial, and a readability pass
- The free trial now includes business risk checks: 10 checks and 10 watched businesses while the trial runs, nothing billed.
- Bigger, plainer type across every screen: 12px is the floor, labels read as sentences, and the terminal-style capitals are gone.
- Concrete supply lines price from the rate card again ($270/m³ for 25 MPa). A stale copy of the grade ladder had been billing well over it.
- A typed grade is now read: ask for 20 MPa and the quote prices and describes 20 MPa, not the recipe default.
Sourced rates, a tighter takeoff engine, and faster client pages
- Every headline rate in every rate card now carries its source, re-checked against at least two 2026 Australian supplier lists or cost guides.
- Takeoff engine: a door or pier size is never read as a count, a restated tally is not doubled, and removal work stops billing as new work.
- The client’s quote page renders on the server, so it opens faster on their phone, and the app and the link read the same loader so they cannot drift.
- Site photos live in a private bucket behind signed links. Nothing internal reaches a public page.
- Business risk checks: every report records the rules version it was banded under, and bodies registered under an ARBN can now be banded.
- Client phone numbers and emails are tappable and copyable in the client book, and signing out forgets who you were on a shared phone.
Business risk checks are live, and every trade gets its own examples
- Business risk checks: check the business behind a quote on ABN Lookup, ASIC’s company dataset and the QBCC register, every reason sourced and dated.
- Watch a business and get told when its ABN, company status or licence changes. An optional add-on. Information to consider, not advice.
- Every trade sees its own worked examples in tutorials, the estimator, the job form and the Foreman. A tiler is no longer shown a concrete slab.
- The Foreman’s launcher drags smoothly, settles on the side you leave it, and no longer starts a text selection on a long press.
- Risk reports: a government body can be banded, and a saved report PDF no longer mentions your own trial.
Back-costing, variations 2.0, retention, EOT notices and memberships
- Back-costing: type actual costs against the accepted quote’s cost lines and the gauge re-reads the job on real margin, with over-budget lines flagged.
- Variations 2.0: your state’s rules on unsigned variations shown up front, a margin preview, and one tap to bill an approved variation on a claim.
- Retention and defects money clock: retention withheld per paid claim, practical completion and defects dates, and release reminders.
- Extension-of-time notices dated on the statutory business-day clock, stating the cause and the extent, before the window closes.
- Reopen a week-old draft and see a line-by-line reprice against today’s guide card, with a dated note on which cost families are moving.
- Maintenance memberships: a recurring plan your client joins from a link, billed through your own Stripe account.
- Site evidence: photos anchored to a stage, a quote line and the real capture time, paired before and after, in a printable evidence pack.
- The AI Estimator takes photos: camera-first on a phone, up to six, with the money still priced off your rate card.
Four new trades, statutory payment claims, and the licence guard
- Carpentry, roofing, bricklaying and rendering join the line-up, each with its own editable 2026 rate card and takeoff engine.
- Security of Payment claims in NSW, VIC and QLD: an overdue invoice escalates to a statutory payment claim with each Act’s exact wording. Never auto-sent.
- Licence threshold guard: cross your state’s unlicensed-work cap with no licence on file and the builder says so in hard words.
- Payment terms that outrun the state’s security-of-payment clock are flagged in Settings, and due dates over the Christmas shutdown are flagged too.
- The deposit split on Money: the latest deposit broken into GST held, materials committed and what is actually yours.
- The public Trade Rate Index: cost-derived floor, healthy and premium rates for the most-quoted jobs in every trade, with a free rate checker.

- A new account starts with 10 days of full Pro, every feature switched on.
- One free trial per person: deleting an account and signing up again no longer starts a fresh clock.
Rate cards audited against real supplier pricing
- 134 rate lines checked against supplier evidence and 39 corrected. Retail sticker prices that had crept into cost lines now read as trade cost.
- 25 MPa concrete re-anchored at $270/m³ from published supplier and contractor pricing, and the whole grade ladder moved with it.
- Earthmoving: spoil swell is a property of the material (sand, clay, shale, rock), read from the scope, with the assumption shown on the quote.
- The free trial is uncapped while it runs: unlimited quotes, invoices and safety packs.
Twelve quote templates, live previews and a logo from your camera roll
- Twelve quote and invoice templates with a live preview of what your client opens, in the builder, in Settings and during setup.
- Upload your logo from the camera roll during setup or under Branding. It lands on the preview the second it is picked.
- Markup explained in money during setup: a job that costs you $8,000, charged at $10,000, keeps $2,000.
- The Foreman’s pill minimises to a small draggable badge and remembers where you left it.
- The welcome email that was failing silently now sends, with a nightly sweep for any that were missed.
Sumitt is on the App Store
- The iPhone and iPad app is live on the Australian App Store, running the same account as the web.
- Android and desktop: sign in on the web and add Sumitt to your home screen. It opens full screen like any other app.
The free Rate Checker
- Type your rate for a common job in your trade and see whether it clears cost, the floor, healthy or premium, with the itemised working.
- Share a check as a link. The preview card carries the job, the rate and the verdict.
State deposit caps and ten one-glance nudges
- Deposit caps for eight states with the Act cited: the builder warns when a deposit goes over the cap for the job size. A warning, never a block.
- Client money memory in the builder: how a repeat client paid last time, what they still owe, and what the last job made.
- A rate sanity check when a line sits well under the median of your own accepted jobs, and a note when materials outrun the deposit.
- Waiting-on-an-answer rail: quiet quotes, biggest money first, with open receipts and a one-tap text in your own words.
- Due dates that land on a weekend or a public holiday are flagged with the next banking day.
- The materials counter list: your material lines as the list you read out at the trade counter, copied in one tap.
Card-fee advice in the builder
- Taking card payments costs about 3% all up. The builder shows the dollar figure and lifts the price by that much in one tap, so you never surcharge.
The Foreman answers as it thinks
- The Foreman streams its replies, keeps your conversation on your own account, and knows which screen you are on.
- Its opening view shows real vitals: open quotes, unpaid, margin and won.
Progress claims, review asks and instant payouts
- Progress claims: numbered claims against an accepted quote, each with its own pay link by card or bank transfer, capped at the contract.
- One Google-review ask per paid job, sent in your name when the invoice is paid in full. Opt out in Settings.
- Instant Payouts from the Money screen: your Stripe balance to your bank in minutes, with the real fee shown first.
- Reports and overdue counts run on your own timezone, so an invoice turns overdue at your midnight, not UTC’s.
- About thirty money and security findings from an audit closed: double-charge guards, atomic claim caps, server-side variation maths.
Optional extras become billable, and Pro is Pro
- Optional extras are real: the client ticks them on the quote link, and the total, deposit, invoice and job contract follow.
- The tax invoice itemises ticked extras and approved variations as their own lines.
- Pro features are now Pro: the AI Estimator, Site Inspector, Intelligence, live Foreman, safety packs and automatic follow-ups. The trial keeps full Pro.
- Lifecycle emails: a heads-up before the trial ends, a nudge for a draft never sent, and one win-back.
