Straight answers
Is it day rates or square metres?
Both. Wet-hire plant bills by the day or the hour, site strip and cut to level bills per square metre or by the day, and cartage, spoil and import fill are per load. The float, traffic control and the operator are lines too.
Can I type the cut and get a price?
Type or say the area, the depth and whether the spoil is carted and the engine works out the loads and the machine time, telling you when it assumed the soil type or read rock in the scope. The arithmetic is deterministic and priced off your card.
Does the SWMS cover plant and trenches?
The earthmoving hazard set covers loading, floating and transport, plant operation with exclusion zones and spotters, and excavation and trenching with batter, bench or shore controls. The high-risk questions ask about depth, services and plant near workers. You confirm on site and sign.
Do builder clients pay before the float leaves?
The client, builder or homeowner, opens the quote link, accepts, e-signs and pays the deposit by card or marks a bank transfer. Progress claims and variations approved in writing cover the jobs that grow once the dirt starts moving.
